The Alfarma Expression was held in Windsor, Ontario on the 6th of October. The event was organised by Kevinprecious Fawehinmi in collaboration with the University of Windsor Nigerian Student Association (UWNSA).
The Alfarma Expression is an art exhibition to showcase creative talents in live painting, photography, spoken word, fashion and poetry. The event will now hold every semester in the school.
The vision of the event is to create a platform for art creators and art lovers to come together as a community to celebrate the African culture, regardless of location.
Organisers of the Alfarma Expression achieved this by showcasing the works of some international photographers. Some of the artists shown at the exhibition are: Andikan, Obi’s Lens, Ore Ibitayo and Obi Samuel. Other local artists were also shown.
Musical performances were by 4TWNTY, Latavia, King Majik and DJ Africs, who played his set all day, while creative fashion pieces by House of Kene and Seruka Design were showcased on the runway.
Also, talented artist, CZNCO made live and body painting in different sessions. Spoken word and poetry performances were also performed by Selina McCallum, T’challa Abdi and Tessie Biel.
The audience witnessed the value Alfarma Expression has to offer. They got to interact with the artists and their art while enjoying positive vibes and good music. They also experienced photo sessions with some exhibitors at the event.
